Run and Tell That: Into The Woods (2014 Movie Adaption)

Into the Woods was probably the most highly anticipated musical film adaption of all time a lot of theater people have been waiting for this movie for over 20 years! There have been several attempts at making the movie some early drafts included Robin Williams (Who I continue to miss) as The Baker, Goldie Hawn as The Baker’s Wife (No Comment), Cher as The Witch (I see it and I think it would have been very interesting), Danny DeVito as The Giant, Steve Martin as The Wolf (YES!!!) and Roseanne Barr as Jack’s Mother. There were several reports of a movie happening after that, but none ever surfaced or came to be until now. I was super excited for the movie and when I was watching the movie I was singing along the whole time. For me the problems were not with the actors, but it was more to do with the screenplay. There were several rewrites I didn’t like about the movie 1) The deletion of “Our Little World” this song was not in the original Broadway production it was in the pre-broadway tryout but was deleted afterword and then reinstated for the West End run and for all subsequent runs. It’s a duet between The Witch and Rapunzel when we first meet Rapunzel it’s a cute little song and it would have shown off Streep’s (The Witch) acting talents. The song to me is incredibly necessary. The witch talks about how “If only it was her hair that grew and not her” while Rapunzel talks about how she wants to leave the tower and explore the world. It gives more for Rapunzel to do rather than her "Ah,ah,ah,ah,ah" but it also shows you how much she wants to leave and how the Witch knows that Rapunzel wants to leave, but refuses to believe it. 2) "The Witch's Rap" rewrites! Those rewrites drove me crazy! To me they actually weakened the opening number (Miss Streep made it work, but it still annoyed me) 3) I did not like Rapunzel's end. Rob Marshall (The Director) said "Rapunzel's end it still pretty dark" ***SPOILER ALERT*** No it's not! She just runs away with her Prince. In the Broadway show she goes full on crazy and she dies and gets squished by the Giant, which leads to 4) The rewrites to "Witch's Lament" it was such a beautiful song the way it was, but they just shortened it and it was eh. The beginning of the song "This is the world I meant! Couldn't you listen.... Safe behind walls as I could not!" it was so beautiful and yet so haunting and Meryl would have made it haunting times a thousand! I really wish they hadn't taken the beginning part out. 5) What really annoyed me was how they took out those little snippet songs like "The Spell is on Our House (Reprise)" (The other songs weren't really included as songs because they're all of 2 seconds in the Broadway production) these songs were so short, but so important sometimes and it annoyed me how they took them out and for the most part were replaced with mediocre dialogue scenes. 6) There was this one part of the film after The Baker and The Baker's Wife separate when they argue about the cow running away and then The Witch appears and yells at them. There was this slight second of silence between them were if a song was put there it would have been such a beautiful moment even if they didn't sing it to each other and it was just them singing inner thoughts I felt like it could have been a truly beautiful moment. 7) "I Know Things Now" I didn't like how they had that whole sequence of Little Red going down The Wolf's stomach it looked so fake and really hurt the movie in my opinion. 8) Some unnecessary moments of narrating by the baker. I can't remember specific spots, but I remember some parts just annoyed me so much. Never fear though! There is a happily ever after (Journey over... hehe funny) there were several things that I loved about the film or I was happy that they did. 1) The production design! The costumes and sets were so beautiful and gorgeous and perfect especially Meryl Streep's Witch's Costume (After Transformation) 2) The deletion of The Mysterious Man, Narrator (Which is now the job of The Baker), Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel's Twins all of these characters were great for the stage, but would have just been annoying for the movie. 3) The deletion of the songs "Agony (Reprise)" this song would have just been to much in the movie and a little inappropriate in the movie as well. "I Guess This is Goodbye" this song also would have just been to much for the movie and the songs "First Midnight" and "Second Midnight" I'm happy they're gone that would have been weird to see on the screen, but I would have applauded Marshall (The director) if he could have pulled it off. 4) "Agony" sung by Cinderella's Prince (Pine) and Rapunzel's Prince (Magnussen) both were perfect and they were hilarious in this number they worked so well together in this number. Now let's talk about each person individually!

Meryl Streep as The Witch: She was perfection, but there was just something missing from her performance. I'm not sure if it was because of all the rewrites made to her songs, but for me there was something missing. Miss Streep was still amazing and she always is. Streep's "Stay With Me" and "The Last Midnight" were absolutely beautiful and haunting! I would love to see her take this role to the stage! She would win a Tony! She was perfectly funny and dramatic and I'm thinking Oscar #4.

Emily Blunt as The Baker's Wife: Miss Blunt was very good in this film she was insanely funny especially during "Any Moment" and she was much better at singing than I thought she would be. I thought her "Moments in the Woods" was absolutely beautiful! I loved Joanna Gleason in this role, but Blunt just set a whole new standard for this role. Miss Blunt was so cute and adorable in this role and I'm so happy they chose her for this role.

James Corden as The Baker: I think Corden was hilarious in this role! He was perfect at the funny moments, but for the dramatic moments he was good, alright but compared to others in the film he was okay. I think he did a great job in this role, but I don't see any awards coming his way.

Anna Kendrick as Cinderella: Everyone hated the idea of Miss Kendrick playing Cinderella. I actually liked the thought I think she would do a pretty good job and she did, but she wasn't great. There were sometimes when she delivered a line she was a little bit flat and boring and she just didn't show any emotion at time or if she did it was one constant emotion throughout. I thought her singing was top notch it was just her acting that failed.

Chris Pine as Cinderella's Prince: Pine was absolutely hilarious as Cinderella's Prince he brought something to the character that you can never see on the stage, I can't quite put my finger on it, but it was awesome and when he told Cinderella "I will always love the princess that ran away" or something like that it got me in the feels. I was shanked in the feels.

Johnny Depp as The Wolf: As soon as I saw that Depp was cast as The Wolf I just cried. Depp and that role was such a perfect fit! He was absolutely amazing! (They did lower "Hello, Little Girl" for him, but he was still amazing!) Depp was absolutely hilarious as The Wolf and there was not a single thing I can complain about what he did.

Lilla Crawford as Little Red Riding Hood: Little miss Crawford just lacked energy she would sing a line, walk around, sing, walk, some dialogue and it was all mechanical and it did not quite mesh with everyone else. She does not have anything but stage credits to her name so I will cut her a break she does not know how to hit her marks for the camera, but where was the energy? She was Annie in the 2012 Revival of Annie where’s the energy?

MacKenzie Mauzy as Rapunzel: To be honest we don't see to much of Rapunzel in the movie for me to give a good and thought out review for her. I thought she was very good from what I saw.

Daniel Huttlestone as Jack: I really did not like Huttlestone as Jack he had this really annoying lisp and a weird bellowing nasal (I know that sounds impossible, but thats what it sounded like to me) quality about him and I think his acting was not that great either. It was along the same lines as Miss Crawford they just don't know how to hit their marks for the camera.

Tracey Ullman as Jack's Mother: Miss Ullman was hilarious as Jack's Mother and I would also love to see her play this role on the stage I think it would be hilarious to see her sing "Slotted spoons don't hold much soup" she was perfect and I wish her part hadn't been drastically shortened.

Christine Baranski as Cinderella's Stepmother: This was another time where I thought perfection!!! Miss Baranski was hilarious as Tanya in Mamma Mia (Also starring Meryl Streep) and she was hilarious in this role I would also love to see her take this role on in the stage show.

Tammy Blanchard and Lucy Punch as Florinda and Lucinda: They were also hilarious in their basically cameo roles they were in the movie all of ten minutes, but they were hilarious and funny as the evil stepsisters.

Billy Magnussen as Rapunzel's Prince: Magnussen was another one of those actors whose roles was greatly diminished because of the stage-to-screen changes they made for the film, but he was absolutely hilarious.

Overall I thought Into the Woods was a good movie and the problems wasn't the acting or the actors/ actresses it was with the screenplay and the lyric changes.

****SPECIAL!!!!*****
Here are my Oscar nomination predictions for this film.
Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Chris Pine as Cinderella's Prince

Unexpected Song: You'll Never Walk Alone

You'll Never Walk Alone is probably one of the most beautiful musical pieces ever written for the theater. It brings such a poetic message "You are never alone! And no matter how much you might think you are you won't be. Someone will always be there for you" The number is also very simple melody wise it doesn't have these crazy riffs or notes, which I think makes it all the more beautiful because of it's simplicity. Rodgers & Hammerstein wrote this song for Carousel it is sung in the second act by Nettie Fowler to help comfort Julie Jordan.

Audra McDonald- She portrayed the role of Carrie Pipperidge in the 1994 revival of Carousel the show that she won her first tony award for.

Bernadette Peters- Sang this song on her studio album Bernadette Peters Loves Rogers & Hammerstein and she sings it beautifully.

Judy Garland- Recorded this song for her album Judy in London which was recorded at her concert Judy in London.

Mormon Tabernacle Choir- From their album Showtime! Music of Broadway and Hollywood

Voices of Liberty- An amazing group of singers at Epcot in Disney World and they made an absolutely beautiful acapella version of this song.

The Last Midnight: January- Part 2

In recent news the critically acclaimed Broadway Revival of Side Show has announced that they will be closing on January 4th of 2015. I really wish I could see this production, but I don't have the time or the money and for those who can see it. I recommend you to go see it, it's a beautiful and unique piece.

Trivia: The original Broadway run of Side Show starring Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner opened on October 16th, 1997 and closed January 3rd, 1998. The new Broadway production opened on November 17th, 2014 and will close on January 4th, 2015. Those are nearly identical runs, isn't that weird?

The Show Must Go On: The Phantom of the Opera

A show as big as Phantom has had many mishaps over the years (All 25 of them on Broadway and 26 on West End) Sometime the mishaps are big and sometimes they're small, but they are mostly big though.

Daae Days: Backstage at "Phantom" with Sierra Boggess, Episode 4: Club Christine, Part 1 (They share onstage mishaps 8:40- 15:34)

Daae Days: Backstage at "Phantom" with Sierra Boggess, Episode 7: Club Christine, Part 2 (A different set of Christines share onstage mishaps 15:47- 24:20)

The Overture

The "Magical" Lasso

"As God's My Witness I wasn't at my post"
http://youtu.be/hrzAKtZxK44 (I can't embed this, but I really liked this actually. I think with Meg telling the story it adds this whole new level for the character and you get to see more of her mischievous side, which is also in the novel.)

And we thought Carlotta was bad! (Mishaps in order. 1)The Phantom and Christine walk on, because the boat stops working. 2) The candles are still moving in when Christine arrives in her wedding dress 3) The doll wedding dress is on the Phantom's throne.

Are you there Angel? It's me Christine.

Come we practice......... now

Let Me Be Your Star: Tiffany Mann

Tiffany Mann was a born and raised Texas girl she attended Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts in 2009. I don't know much about Mann other than that because that's all I could find on her. ****SIDE BAR: That sounds like something a private investigator would say: SIDE BAR****

"And I'm Telling You" (I came across this a few years ago and I was absolutely blown away and I still am, she has such an amazing voice.)

"When You're Good to Mama" (Some parts are just too low for her, but other parts she sounds amazing on)

"Season's of Love" (She's the soloist that does all the crazy riffs)

Unexpected Song: Diva's Lament (Whatever Happened to My Part?)

I love this song so much! It is probably one of the funniest songs I have ever heard in my whole life. I can't describe how much I love this song and it's perfect hilariousness.

Carley Mattheus: Performed at Sachem North Broadway Night

Caroline Bowman: Performed this at At This Performance presented by Musicals Tonight

Cherish Love: The video says "At Mama's Party" and I'm guessing it was some sort of karaoke type thing, but when she wasn't joking around with the notes she was actually really good!

Hannah Waddingham: Lady of the Lake (Was a replacement on Broadway and then originated the role in London, West End, for those theater geeks)

Malinda DeRouen: Lady of the Lake (She starred in the show at Pacific Repertory Theatre and I think she does an excellent job with this song.)

Sara Ramirez: Lady of the Lake (The original Lady of the Lake on Broadway which she won a well deserved Tony Award for.)

Watch What Happens

The Entire Cast of Peter Pan (Cathy Rigby version)
This entire production of Peter Pan is amazing. I saw it when I was a little kid and Cathy Rigby flew right up to my face I could have touched her and I had fairy dust sprinkled all over me. It was the most magical time I have ever spent in the theater and it is one of my fondest memories. I was so happy when that Christmas my Grandma bought me the VHS (I was alive when VHS were around yes) and by February it was broken with how many times I watched it and rewinded it (I even had one of those rewind machine things for VHS's) I loved this show and I can watch it any time. The acting/ singing and dancing was all top notch and the costumes and sets were beautiful. Especially the Neverland sets it looked exotic and surreal but it wasn't all cartoony. There is not a single thing that was bad about this production. I honestly can not find one (Okay, the book could have used minor tweaks, but the actors still pulled it off.) Everything in this production was perfect.

(The Perfect) Cast: Cathy Rigby as Peter Pan
Paul Schoeffler as Mr. Darling/ Captain Hook
Barbara McCulloh as Mrs. Darling/ Mermaid
Dana Solimando as Liza/ Tiger Lily
Elisa Sagardia as Wendy Moira Angela Darling
Barry Cavanagh as John Darling
Drake English as Michael Darling
Michael Nostrand as Mr. Smee

"Hook's Tango"

"Tender Shepard"

"I Won't Grow Up"

"I Gotta Crow"

"Never Never Land" and "I'm Flying"

"Let It Go"

"Total Eclipse of the Heart"

"Firework"

"Oh, Holy Night"

Run and Tell That: Peter Pan Live!

First things first, (I'm a realist, realist) overall I did enjoy this show. It was a lot better than last year's hot mess of The Sound of Music Live! I think NBC definitely took a step in the right direction, but they still have a long way to go. For the changes that were made to the script, I understand why they made some of them because it was easier for them to translate it with the cameras and costume changes and overall I enjoyed the production the dancing was superb and I loved the idea of a slide in The Lost Boys Hideout. As always though, there were things I didn't like, which were 1) How they took out Tiger Lily's dance number (Not her song in the original show, I'm talking about the dance number she had in the Cathy Rigby version) 2) How they changed the lyrics to "Ugg-A-Wugg" I know they did it because "Time's changed" and blah, blah, blah and it might have been found "Offensive" the only thing I found "Offensive" was the Indians costumes. 3) (My biggest and most massive pet peeve in the whole show) Was in "Distant Melody" how they took out Peter Pan's lines those lines were a massive turning point for Peter and they just took it away and replaced it with a two-bit song in it's place 4) The Neverland set, it looked too campy and cheesy Neverland is supposed to be a colorful and surreal place, it's not supposed to look like something out of Alice and Wonderland and it drove me crazy how they had Neverland written on the floor. Why? Just Why? 5) I deeply missed in "Wendy" them building a little house around her, I always thought that was so very cute. 6) "I've Gotta Crow" Where were the crows? Why did Peter only crow once the whole show? I was so annoyed with that! The song is called "I've Gotta Crow" so why did the crowing only happen at the end of the number? 7) The Shadow: I hate how once again in "I've Gotta Crow" they added that whole shadow dance sequence that was pointless and really annoying. 8) Tinkerbell dying, I was really hoping the Peter wouldn't talk to the audience because with a live televised event Peter might have just said "Hey girl, give a shout out for Tink's on the Tweets or Facebooks" that annoyed me so much. 9) The Fairy Dust: I hated how it was CGI it was so stupid. There were several other tid-bits that I didn't like, but I'm not going to be-rate the production. (If you want me to rant about last year's The Sound of Music Live! Tell me and I will videotape it and post it on here.) Never fear, there was also some good things in Peter Pan Live! 1)The new song "Vengeance" for Captain Hook, I thought that was pretty good and it was funny. 2) The song "Only Pretend" for Wendy was perfection it perfectly described her growing feelings for Peter and for Neverland itself. 3) Christian Borle's Arms, I was actually strangely turned on by them thy even have their own twitter account! 4) "Distant Melody" while I didn't like the fact they took out Peter I did like the addition of Mrs. Darling (I think that if they had kept Peter in the song it would have made such a beautiful and yet haunting trio.) Now let's get into the nitty gritty details.

Allison Williams as Peter Pan: I saw Cathy Rigby live as Peter Pan and I don't think anyone could beat her. Williams did do a good job though, she was an good singer, she's a lot better on uptempo songs than the ballads. Her cover of "Never Never Land" disappointed me especially that's one of the most beautiful songs in the whole show and she sang it without any emotion. Williams did an amazing job on numbers like "I Won't Grow Up" and "Wendy" (I do think that if she trains a little more on her voice and showing emotion through song she could be one kick-ass triple threat) and I think she does look like Peter, but her voice, singing not speaking, was just to high for her to be Peter. Peter is supposed to be a young boy, but he still has a semi-deep voice it's not soprano high. I think she could have used a little more spirit when she delivered the lines, but otherwise she was good.

Christopher Walken as Captain Hook: I was highly excited to see him in this role, as soon as I read about him being in it. I got these massive chills. But as soon as I saw him in this role, I was a little disappointed. He lacked energy in it and he doesn't have to do over the top energy, he could have put a little more in it than what he gave, it was like he was just walking through the numbers and his so called "Dancing" that he asked for was not on par and it just lacked something else that finesse and boldness that makes Hook Hook. (For me no one will ever beat Paul Schoeffler as Captain Hook he was jaw dropping perfectly funny and amazing.) I personally felt that it was just because he was too old for the role, he probably could have done it a few years ago, just not anymore.

Christian Borle as Mr. Smee/George Darling: Borle is amazing and I loved him as Mr. Darling and Mr. Smee (I personally think they should have had Borle play Captain Hook it would have been a lot funnier) His Smee was absolutely perfect, it was so funny and genius as he always is. I can not say anything bad about Borle because he is always perfect in every role.

Kelli O'Hara as Mrs. Darling: Kelli O'Hara is amazing, and she made such a cute Mrs. Darling. I loved her in this production as well. Her and Borle were so cute together. Her beautiful soprano voice was perfect on "Tender Shepard" and she did an amazing job with her singing.

Taylor Louderman as Wendy Darling: She was very good in her role. She was the unexpected humorous role in this show with all her lessons about being proper and a gentleman. I thought her singing was a lovely and she gave a very nice performance. She definitely brought her all for the role of Wendy and she pulled it off amazingly.

Alanna Saunders as Tiger Lily: Since they downgraded her part she wasn't able to do much, which was a shame, but from what I saw she did an amazing job and if they had kept her number she would have been amazing.

John Allyn/ Jake Lucas as Michael Darling/ John Darling: I think they did a very good job for child actors. A lot better than those terrible Von Trapp children.

Minnie Driver as Adult Wendy/Narrator: Driver made a very nice Narrator I think she did a great job, she could have also used a little bit more emotion during Narrating because I always imagined it as her telling the story to Jane and as Adult Wendy she did an amazing job and she knew how to hit her marks just right for the camera without it feeling stiff and her regretful feelings of growing up and not being able to be Peter's mother obviously upset her.

Dyllon Burnside, Jason Gotay, David Guzman, Jacob Guzman, Michael Hartung, Garett Hawe, F. Michael Haynie, Chris McCarrell, Daniel Quadrino and Ryan Steele as The Lost Boys: They were a bit to old looking to play the Lost Boys and while they had the spirit it annoyed me how they were all the same height, if not taller than Peter.

Ryan Andes, Alan H. Green, John Arthur Greene, Austin Lesch, Gary Milner, Michael Park, T. Oliver Reid, Bryce Ryness, Chris Sullivan and Matt Wall as The Pirates: They were perfect and their dancing was phenominal. They were funny and a little scary and made up perfectly for Christopher Walken's Hook.

RePhantom: Act 2

Unfortunately there was an Act 2 and it didn't get any better. Here's all my tweets

This production was very bad. I understand why they were trying to do, but they failed miserably at it.

RePhantom: Act 1

Here are all my tweets (For Act 1 at least) ranting about how bad the Redesigned/ revamped version of the 2014 U.S. tour of The Phantom of the Opera.

I Dreamed a Dream: Funny Girl

Funny Girl is a classic musical. It is such a beauty and a rare gem. It has never been revived once, because everyone knew critics would just compare the new lead to Barbra, but let me tell you something. The show is not Funny Girl: The Life of Barbra Streisand it's called Funny Girl: The Life of Fanny Brice (Okay, that's not really the title but you know what I mean) Yes, Barbra created the role and yes she was nominated for a Tony for it and yes she did go on to play the role in the movie and she did win the Oscar for it, but just because she did all that does not mean it's her role. The reason why the role is so closely related to her is because she put her own mark on the role! (Another famous example of this is Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music) And don't get me wrong Barbra did an amazing job with that role, but once again she made it her own. I absolutely hate it when people copy what she does breath for breath when they perform in that role. *Cough* *Cough* Lea Michele^ *Cough* *Cough* Anyway, I'm getting off track. Funny Girl is a classic musical and I have these 3 amazing women who would have been perfect for the role, but they're unfortunately to old now^^ Ok, let me just put the cast list down before I get completely off topic and start talking about my Desperate Housewives obsession.

Christina Bianco as Fanny Brice (She is extremely talented and she is so funny! Bianco would bring such a unique trait to this role that is nothing like Barbra. She just has that thing Barbra had when she was Fanny. Bianco is probably the smartest choice for this role. She would put her own mark on this role and she wouldn't copy Barbra in the slightest, but we all know she can copy Barbra exactly.)

Michael C. Hall as Nick Arnstein (I think his voice would be very unique to hear in this role. And it's definitely unlike any of his other roles^^^ and it would be very interesting, a good interesting, to see how he would pull off this role.)

Bebe Neuwirth as Rose Brice (Bebe brings this sexy, dry wit to every single one of her roles.Rose isn't one of those type of characters, but I think Neuwirth would be able to pull it off. Bebe is still funny as hell and would be great.)

Paul Schoeffler as Florenz Ziegfeld (I saw him perform twice in my life. The first time when I was about 5, I saw him as Captain Hook/ Mr. Darling in Peter Pan and I also saw him this October as Franklin Hart in 9 to 5. He can do physical comedy, character comedy, talking comedy [I don't know if that's a thing, it's where they just deliver the lines in a haha funny way], and he can definetly do the stern comedy [Where you are like that one stern person who delivers his lines and it's so funny, just because it's so stern, do you catch my drift?] I think it would be interesting to see him in this role.)

Jeremy Jordan as Eddie Ryan (I just see him in this role, I don't know why. I just see him in this role)

Jackie Hoffman as Mrs. Strakosh (Jackie would be hilarious in this role! She's so funny herself and would just be incredible with this character!)

^Yes, I don't like Lea Michele. I think she is talented I will give her that (When she doesn't auto-tune her voice or make weird faces) But she could never pull off Fanny Brice, she would just copy Barbra. Did you see her perform "I'm the Greatest Star" with that wig! She was playing Barbra Streisand not Fanny Brice. She copied Barbra's actions move for move. It made me want to stab my eyes with a cow horn.

^^ 1. Sherie Renee Scott (That would have been amazing to see)
2. Idina Menzel (There were rumors about this happening after Rent but before Wicked, but it never took off)
3. Sutton Foster (She would have been amazing in this role and would have won a Tony)

^^^Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch and The Emcee in Cabaret

RePhantom

To continue seeing me rant please go to my twitter for live updates.

RePhantom 3

Meg just messed up on a lyric.

Meg: I (Sings the melody on "ah"), but the words aren't yours.

RePhantom 2

Now they are in the dressing room and it looks like a regular ballet girl dressing room. Wouldn't you give the star of the opera a decent dressing room? Particularly her own?

RePhantom 1

I'm creating a new segment just for this show.

"Angel of Music" the blocking and sets are driving me crazy. That whole ballet scene that happens during it, all the ballet girls are inside the dressing room and stretching on everything (Which makes them look like they're working at the club.) But this is before Christine/ Meg ever go in the room. It's as weird to explain it as it is to see it.

What the Fuck?: Phantom Revamp (RePhantom)

I'm watching the show online and the staging is so bad! I'm only on "Think of Me" and I want to gouge my eyes out!

Unexpected Song: Don't Cry For Me Argentina

We all know that Andrew Llyod Webber only writes his scores to try and murder his leading women, but he does have some beautiful songs under his name and this is one of them. Don't Cry For Me Argentina is in the second act of the musical Evita and is sung by Eva Peron. It is perhaps the most well known song from this show.

Elaine Paige: Original London Eva

Lea Salonga: Performed this at her Broadway Concert (She would have made an amazing Eva)

Madonna: Eva Peron in the 1996 film adaption. I actually liked her performance in this role, her voice could have used some work but she was not terrible. You should see who some of the other choices are*

Nicole Scherzinger: She performed this song at "Andrew Lloyd Webber: 40 Musical Years" and I just have one thing to say "When is this coming to Broadway?" She was truly amazing in this performance. I never expected anything like it.

Patti LuPone: Original Broadway Eva (Fun Fact: She hated her experience in Evita)

*Barbra Streisand (What? Just what?), Liza Minelli (I don't see it), Charo (Cuchi-cuchi, yes that Charo), Cher (I kind of see it), Olivia Newton-John (Why would you choose an Australian with the thickest Australian accent?), Michelle Pfeiffer (I don't see this either)

The Show Must Go On: Into the Woods

This funny blooper happened at Public Theater's production of Into the Woods.
Cast: Donna Murphy as The Witch
Amy Adams as The Baker's Wife
Denis O'Hare as The Baker

*The Mysterious Man just took the money from The Baker and then The Baker run's into his wife and finds out she lost the cow.*

BW: She might just have easily run away from you.

B: But she didn't.

BW: But she might have!

B: But she didn't.

BW: But she might have!

B: But she didn't.

BW: But she might have!

W: WHO CARES!!!!! The cape is gone is gone! Get it back! I mean the cow, for god's sake! Get it! (Audience laughs) Get it back!

Brava Donna Murphy, Brava.

Yay! Acapella!

This is some cool Acapella stuff I found on Spotify. And it is musical related!

Franki Valli Medley (Jersey Boys): Walk Like a Man/ Can't Take My Eyes Off You/ Sherry/ Who Love You

Peter Pan Live!

I completely and utterly forgot about Peter Pan Live! It actually looks good this year and I don't think it will be as bad as The Sound of Music Live! (We all know what a hot mess that was. Carrie Underwood can't act her way out of a paper bag, great singing though) So if you take notice I have just added a new countdown timer for Peter Pan Live! Everyone should watch it just to see Christian Borle as Mr. Smee/ Mr. Darling.

Opening Night: Coming Home

Coming Home is Kristin Chenoweth's newest album recorded live from her concert Coming Home in her hometown Broken Arrow, Oklahoma (I had to sing the lyrics to Oklahoma to spell that) and her concert is being aired tonight on PBS at 9pm ET. I recommend that all of you watch it! Kristin Chenoweth is an amazing human being (Also a Tony and Emmy Winner). I have nothing mean or ugly to say about her. She always acts with the utmost respect and classiness in public. She leaves all of her dirtiness for her acting roles. And she is outrageously funny. Kristin Chenoweth has released 4 other studio albums (Let Yourself Go, As I Am, A Lovely Way to Spend Christmas, Some Lessons Learned) She has also released a memoir A Little Bit Wicked: Life, Love, and Faith in Stages (Which is a New York Times Best Seller) Kristin Chenoweth's many theater credits include Broadway: Steel Pier (Precious McGuire), You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown [Revival] (Sally Brown), Epic Proportions [Revival] (Louise Goldman), Wicked (Galinda), The Apple Tree [Revival] (Eve, Princess Barbára, Ella & Passionella), Promises, Promises [Revival] (Fran Kubelik), On the Twentieth Century [Revival] (Lily Garland) I really recommend you watch Coming Home tonight at 9pm ET on PBS, you will not be disappointed. Watch it! #ComingHome

Stop, Thief!: Sherie Renee Scott 2010

Show: Everyday Rapture
Staring: Sherie Rene Scott, Eamon Foley, Lindsay Mendez and Betsy Wolfe (Wolfe would later star in an Off-Broadway revival of The Last Five Years as Cathy, a roll which Scott originated)
Book: Dick Scanlan and Sherie Rene Scott
Score: Various Artists
Tony Awards
Best Actress in a Musical for Sherie Rene Scott [Nominated]
Best Book of a Musical for Dick Scanlan and Sherie Rene Scott [Nominated]

Sherie Renee Scott has been robbed of so many awards it's not even fair! She is such a talented actress and deserves so much more recognition. The last time Scott was nominated for Best Actress in a Musical in 2010 she lost to Catherine Zeta-Jones (Miss Jones is talented, and I'm not saying she didn't deserve that Tony, I think she did a very good job in her role, but Scott in my opinion is the better actress and deserved the Tony more.) At the time Miss Jones was starring in a revival of A Little Night Music and she played Desiree Armfeldt. Everyday Rapture is a semi-autobiographical musical about Scott's life. The show was "a one-person show with four people in it." said Scanlan. "The other three, besides Scott, are a younger actor who has an extended...sequence and two women who serve as backup singers — 'The Mennonettes' — and share other scenes with her." Scott is a very talented actress and deserved to win a Tony for this show even if it was for Best Book she still should have won a Tony. I think this show is so funny. It perfectly shows Scott's many different acting skills and shows off her amazing dry humor. Below I have added some clips and songs from the show so you could see her in her amazing glory.
