Best Actress in a Musical for Sherie Rene Scott [Nominated]
Best Book of a Musical for Dick Scanlan and Sherie Rene Scott [Nominated]
Sherie Renee Scott has been robbed of so many awards it's not even fair! She is such a talented actress and deserves so much more recognition. The last time Scott was nominated for Best Actress in a Musical in 2010 she lost to Catherine Zeta-Jones (Miss Jones is talented, and I'm not saying she didn't deserve that Tony, I think she did a very good job in her role, but Scott in my opinion is the better actress and deserved the Tony more.) At the time Miss Jones was starring in a revival of A Little Night Music and she played Desiree Armfeldt. Everyday Rapture is a semi-autobiographical musical about Scott's life. The show was "a one-person show with four people in it." said Scanlan. "The other three, besides Scott, are a younger actor who has an extended...sequence and two women who serve as backup singers — 'The Mennonettes' — and share other scenes with her." Scott is a very talented actress and deserved to win a Tony for this show even if it was for Best Book she still should have won a Tony. I think this show is so funny. It perfectly shows Scott's many different acting skills and shows off her amazing dry humor. Below I have added some clips and songs from the show so you could see her in her amazing glory.
"Got A Thing on My Mind"
"Get Happy"
"I Guess the Lord Must Be in New York City"
"The Weight"
"Why"
"Up the Ladder to the Roof"
